Tom's Platform

A Plan for Ward 2

Common sense policies built on lower taxes, managed growth, safer streets, and clean air.

Lower Taxes

Paying more and getting less is not sustainable. I will apply my  executive experience to ensure every tax dollar is spent wisely and residents keep more of what they earn.

  • Deliver city services on time and on budget — the same standard Tom held in the private sector.
  • Scrutinize city spending and push back on waste and inefficiency at council.
  • Advocate for a tax burden that reflects the real value residents receive.
  • Bring a Senior Executive's discipline to managing Ward 2's share of the city budget.

Managed Growth

Mississauga is growing fast. I will ensure that growth respects the character of established neighbourhoods and serves existing residents first.

  • Listen to residents and ensure their voices are included in the planning for new developments.
  • Push for infrastructure investment that keeps pace with population growth.
  • Protect the green spaces, parks, and community assets that define Ward 2.
  • Ensure new development contributes to, rather than, strains local services and infrastructure.

Safer Streets

With over 300 cars stolen last month in Peel alone, residents deserve more action. I will be a strong voice for public safety at city hall.

  • Support Peel Regional Police with the resources they need to keep Ward 2 safe.
  • Push for a more balanced and effective approach to traffic calming and road safety improvements in residential areas.
  • Work with all levels of government to address auto theft and property crime.
  • Ensure community safety is a standing priority, not an afterthought at council.

Clean Air

Clean air isn't an abstract issue for me. My family breathes the same air as you and every Ward 2 resident. I will hold all levels of government accountable for a cleaner airshed and work for practical solutions.

  • Advocate for a sensible, resident-first solution to air quality in Mississauga.
  • Hold provincial and federal governments accountable for their environmental responsibilities.
  • Work to hold industrial activity to a higher standard when it comes to air quality in Ward 2.
  • Pursue partnerships with other municipalities to address regional air quality challenges.
